KOTN

Karyetna

How we filmed KOTN's entire supply chain for their anniversary.

For its anniversary, KOTN wanted to do something no single campaign had done before: show the entire supply chain, start to finish, as one continuous story.

KOTN's whole identity is built on transparency and closeness to its makers. The difficulty was scale and coherence.

The chain runs across different cities and completely different worlds of labor: From the open cotton fields of El Fayoum to finally the calm of a Canadian office where the finished product lands.

Each of those worlds has its own rhythm, its own visual language, its own people. The film needed to move through all of them without losing the thread that ties a farmer's hands to a customer's hands.

Insight

KOTN's whole promise to its customers is that every hand the material passes through is treated with the same respect. So the film needed to be built around people, not process.

We treated it as a tour: living alongside farmers and factory workers, following the material's life cycle at ground level, in the same order it actually happens.

That meant the crew had to go where the material went and earn access at each stop the same way KOTN earns trust with its makers: by showing up, staying close, and shooting real days rather than staged ones.

Execution

We produced and shot the full documentary tour across three cities, following cotton's actual physical journey rather than compressing it into a studio narrative.

In El Fayoum, we lived alongside the farmers to document the cotton at its source: the fields, the harvest, the hands that start the chain.

From there we followed the material to Alexandria, into the weaving and milling factories, and then to Cairo for the textile and garment factories where the product takes its final shape before making its way to KOTN's office in Canada.

At every stop, the crew embedded with the workers rather than directing from the outside, capturing the unscripted texture of each stage, so the film reads as lived experience rather than a manufactured itinerary.

Result

Karyetna gave KOTN a film it didn't have before: a single, honest through-line connecting the brand's most human commitment: care for material and maker to every stage of the process customers usually never see.

For an anniversary piece, it did more than celebrate: it proved the claim KOTN has built its name on.
